Close strangers is a series of around 30 oil paintings which I’ve been working on since 2016. It was first exhibited in two different venues in 2019. I want to explore representations of classic masculinities through the language of portraiture in oil on canvas. Although most of these men are not supposed to be recognizable, a few of them are.
